The pretty old village of Canico is situated on the south east coast of the island, about eight miles from Funchal, and approximately two miles off the main coastal road which winds upwards from the shoreline. Canico de Baixo is the newer part of the resort offering modern conveniences in a tranquil setting. This resort will appeal to the more mature couples and those who enjoy a peaceful and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
